Today while on the phone with a client I made a startling realization…
People are confused about the make money online niche and the Internet marketing niche. Most of my clients are in one of these if not both of these niches and MOST think they are the same thing.
They are NOT!
The make money online niche is a group of people who are looking for ways to make money online.
The Internet marketing niche is a group of people who are looking for ways to market their business online.
There is a HUGE difference, and knowing this difference might help you if you're confused and lost.
If you do not currently have an online business you need to be focusing on building an online business. This site is for you! I talk about tons of different online businesses you can start and show you how to set them up and get them making you money.
If you currently have an online business (you have a website up and going) then you need to be focusing on marketing your business online. I don't talk about that on this site, but I do over at IMWithLiz.com
Do yourself a favor… If you already have a business up and running (even if it's not making you money) then STOP looking for something else to make you money and learn to market your business. I see people all the time with stuff up and running online, but they aren't promoting it.
That's crazy!
You've got to promote your business once you get it up and going!
Now for the rest of you with no online business yet… As I said, you're in the right spot so keep educating yourself here until you find that “perfect online business” for yourself. I'm giving you tons of options here, but it's up to you to pick the perfect one for YOU!
I just wanted to create this post to ensure you guys knew the difference between these niches and what YOU need to be doing according to where you are with things.

Ok, I get it. Have been promoting recently for http://SkippersBestBuy.com a left over domain from eBay a long long time ago.
No fancy advertising, just writing posts and then share the post to the Facebook fan page for it. Actually got 13 page likes yesterday which is a record and an organic reach of 70….a few comments and shares.
Searched for some other fan pages to look at and they are few and far between. Most in the niche are service people advertising maintenance and installation.
I do need to fancy up and make a squeeze pop up for the front page. Have a sidebar thing, noticed these people seldom leave if they manage to sign up.
With this site I mostly have affiliate offers as I haven’t yet produced a product.
Guess I could document a DIY project I did in Florida and post it as a give away. It was very easy to do and worked like a charm.
Later.
You are on spot with this post, never thought about it like that before.
Great post Liz!
For a long time now I have used these terms interchangeably and I can see now how this has lead me astray, and caused me problems in building a profitable business.
Thank you for providing this valuable insight…
